Summary
Reporting to the Patient Financial Counselor Supervisor, the Financial Counselor must be able to work independently as well as with resources of supervision and management. Performs the task of contacting insurance companies to verify patient’s benefits and eligibility on all inpatient and outpatient admits. This position has been designed to advise insurance companies of admission and to determine patient’s liability to be collected.
- 2+ years of financial counseling experience in a hospital setting
- 3+ years of Hospital Cashiering, including G/L’s, Deposits and Cash Drawer Audits
- Knowledge of medical terminology and payer requirements as well as state and federal regulations
- Excellent communication skills
Pay range: $20.15 - $25.83
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
