POSITION SUMMARY

Coordinates and manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of system and facility quality improvement analytics and reporting. Responsible for coordination of processes for data capture and reporting (to include presenting) related to various service lines as assigned. Coordinates and manages just-in-time education and facilitation of quality improvement projects. Activities are coordinated in conjunction with regulatory compliance and patient safety efforts. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Information Systems or Management, or Healthcare related field and/or equivalent experience in hospital quality improvement activities.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Information Systems or Management, or Healthcare related field and/or equivalent experience in hospital quality improvement.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years in the healthcare industry with minimum of 1 year working with automated systems to extract and analyze data as it specifically relates to quality improvement and outcomes. Demonstrates a working ability with common healthcare terminology. Possesses or develops ability with specific tools and software needed to perform assigned tasks. Able to apply analytical skills in the development of reporting and data extracts using Microsoft Office products. Possesses working knowledge of project management concepts.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 5 years in the healthcare industry with a minimum of 2 years working with automated systems to extract and analyze data. Knowledge of patient care environment and in-depth knowledge of hospital processes as they relate to quality improvement and care redesign. Has working knowledge of Unix and SQL.
